It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas!

Sisters,

THIS IS TONIGHT!!!  Can't wait to see you there!    Also, as parking spaces will be limited, we encourage you to carpool.

Because Of All The New And Beautiful Things I'm Learning About You

Sisters,

Back by popular demand, our "Getting to Know You" is back for Season 2!

We are excited to get to know more about the sisters in our ward through speed chatting and fun spotlight interviews.  Also, to tempt you, will be a sweet Hot Cocoa/Apple Cider Bar.  Starbucks has nothing on the Relief Society when it comes to making gourmet drinks!  :)

We are asking for volunteers to interview fellow sisters, and we'd also like you all to bring along your favorite snack food to share  (and for those of you doing the Healthy Challenge thing, this is a great way to share your new favorite healthy snacks!).

And lastly, to get you as excited about this activity as we are, please enjoy the following video, and try not to spend the next week singing this song!

I Love Technology

Sisters, we are super excited about our upcoming activity this week.  It's all about technology!

First, we will learn about internet safety and protecting our homes and families from the various dangers of the internet.

Next we will learn  how to and actually make Mormon.org profiles (if you haven't already!)  and learn about how we plan on using our Relief Society blog.

Third, we'll have a lesson on family indexing and how to do it.

We will have internet set up to allow you to work along with us, so please bring your laptops, ipads or tablets as well as your membership record numbers (which are available on the temple recommend or by asking the ward clerk).

If you have a mormon.org profile already, please email Brenna Williams at missbwoodbury@gmail.com with the link to your profile site.

And lastly, because, who doesn't love a good Napoleon Dynamite reference, please enjoy this awesomely awkward video!

Tiny Diapers

Sisters,

I wanted you all to know that today I counted the number of diapers we completed at our activity last week. The final count was 45 diapers.  Thanks to everyone who came out and participated! Our sisters who have lost babies will be so grateful for your service.

Mark Your Calendars!

Hey Ladies,  Just a reminder to keep June 21st marked on your calendar.  We'll be doing our t-shirt quilts and tiny diapers to donate to Kennestone hospital.

As a side note, we will need lots of scissors to get everything cut, so please bring a pair for yourself and an extra to spare if you have a pair.  We will be sending out sign up sheets for volunteers to bring sewing machines, cutting mats, rotary cutters, irons and ironing boards.

Please check back here for more information on upcoming activities and to find answers to your questions about what you may need for our upcoming activity.

t-shirt quilts and service stitches

*Sister's mark your calendars*
Thursday, June 21st, 7:00 p.m. in the cultural hall.
We will be learning how to assemble all our favorite t-shirts into a quilt to enjoy for years.  If you aren't interested in making a t-shirt quilt, you can still come for our service project:  We will be sewing bereavement diapers in support of families who have suffered the loss of a preemie or micropreemie through stillbirth or NICU.  We will donate the diapers to Kennestone Hospital.  Best of all, the YW will be joining in!  Hope to see you there!

What you will need to make a T-shirt quilt:

  • T-shirts of the same general size, cleaned (do not use fabric softener).
  • $ to purchase stabilizer from Cassandra Hopwood at the class.  We will iron this on the back of the t-shirts.
  • 3 yards of fabric that coordinates with your t-shirts.  (if it is a dark color, please wash and iron before class.  Colors that compliment shirts well are navy, black, dark green, and purple).
  • Scissors, and basic sewing supplies if you have them.

You will not need backing or batting in class because you won’t get quite that far.

Please call/e-mail Brenna Williams (missbwoodbury@gmail.com) or Diane Brooks (bendianebrooks@gmail.com) if you are planning to attend so we can get a count for better planning.

Also, if you are planning to attend, please let us know if you can bring a sewing machine, and rotary cutter/cutting board, iron/ironing board.

Thanks!!!
